Gulu, Uganda – Prossy Apio, a talented young entrepreneur from Te-Jago Ngetta, has emerged victorious in the recent pitch contest organized by CARITAS Switzerland through its Empower Youth Organizations in Uganda program. Apio, daughter of Okarowok Wibye Acel and member of the extended family of the late Joseph Oteng, took home the maximum prize of UGX 3,000,000.
The contest brought together youth business owners from Lango and Acholi sub-regions, providing a platform for them to showcase their innovative ideas. Apio’s winning pitch, representing Kingly Biz Hub, demonstrated exceptional entrepreneurial acumen and potential for growth.
Odongo Sam Minister in charge of Projects and Founder of Apiway Bees, secured UGX 1,000,000 in prize money, making him the only male winner among the nine female recipients. His achievement highlights the diversity of talent in the region.
