The people of Lira City and Lango are gearing up for the highly anticipated Lango Revival Prayers, organized by the Lango Religious Forum. From October 1-4, 2024, the former Akii Bua stadium will host over 10,000 people from all districts in Lango and beyond. This momentous event promises to bring together churches from all denominations, united in their quest for divine deliverance.
Bishop Joseph Omara, chairman of the organizing committee, emphasized that the prayers will be a time for collective supplication, transcending denominational boundaries. “The theme Palms 85:6 ‘Revive us oh Lord!’ resonates deeply with our community’s desire for spiritual renewal,” he remarked.
Renowned bishops, including Arch. Bishop Emeritus Dr. Joshua Lwere, Arch. Bishop Emeritus Luke Orombi, Arch. Bishop John Baptist Odama, Bishop Emeritus Tom Ibrahim Okello, Rev. Johnson Ogema, Bishop Dr. James Okalo Ekwang, Bishop Santo Linus Wanok and Bishop Professor Alfred Olwa, are expected to join the prayers together with others. Minister for Health and Woman MP Lira City, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, will also participate and join the prayers as Lira City and Lango is revived, demonstrating the event’s broad support.
Hotels in Lira are already experiencing high demand, with 291 suites and other hotels and Guest houses fully booked the the Guests. The stage is being set, and security measures are in place to ensure a safe and peaceful environment.
The prayers will commence daily at 8:00 am and conclude at 7:00 pm. Attendees can expect an atmosphere of healing, deliverance, and spiritual rejuvenation.
