In a move that has brought immense joy to the residents of Lira City, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, Minister of Health and Woman MP for Lira City, has commenced a comprehensive road rehabilitation project. The initiative, aimed at improving the city’s infrastructure, kicked off today at Ireda and will cover a total of 7.1 kilometers of roads.
The project is part of Dr. Aceng’s ongoing efforts to fulfill her election manifesto, having already achieved over 80% of her promised developments to the people of Lira City. A team of engineers had mapped and surveyed the roads a week ago, identifying areas of urgent need.
During the flag-off ceremony, residents gathered to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Aceng for her unwavering commitment to the city’s development. Many praised her for delivering tangible services, unlike some leaders who only make promises.
“This is real development happening in front of us,” said a local businessman. “We are proud of Dr. Jane, and we will continue to support her because she is delivering what she promised.”
Dr. Aceng’s road rehabilitation project is a significant step towards uplifting Lira City. The improved infrastructure will: Enhance transportation, Reduce dust and road degradation and Contribute to the city’s overall growth.
This project marks the beginning of further improvements, as Dr. Aceng continues to honor her commitments to the people of Lira City. Following this phase, the team will focus on another area with impassable roads, camping in Ngetta and Iwal to rehabilitate multiple roads next week.
