In a heartwarming display of leadership, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, Minister of Health and Woman MP for Lira City, responded positively to a request from St. Janal Church of Uganda in Ocukuru ‘A’ cell, Boroboro West, Lira City East Division. A few months ago, Mr. Anyii Moses, a resident of Ocukuru ‘A’ cell, approached Dr. Aceng about the church’s need for chairs. During a morning service today, Moses shared his gratitude for Dr. Aceng’s inquiry about his church’s well-being and for the community.
On September 22, 2024, Dr. Aceng’s representative, Madam Emma Okite who is her Technical Advisor delivered and handed over 50 brand-new plastic chairs to the church. Okite conveyed Dr. Aceng’s warm greetings and emphasized her commitment to fulfilling her manifesto and supporting the community. The chairs were well received with lots of joy and were blessed before the congregation as Anyii Moses, Emma Okite and Otucu join the service with the locals of Ocukuru.
Assistant Resident City Commissioner Lira City, Bonny Otucu accompanied Okite and praised Dr. Aceng’s dedication to serving her constituency. Otucu also highlighted government programs like PDM, EMYOOGA, and GROW, encouraging the congregation to participate and embrace these programs.
Church leaders expressed heartfelt thanks to Dr. Aceng for remembering them. They promised to formally thank Dr. Aceng in writing, ensuring the gesture is documented so that it is in record.
The occasion also included a tour of the church’s development projects. Additionally, a request to repair a broken borehole was presented, and Okite promised to address the issue as soon as possible.
Otucu reminded the congregation of President Museveni’s 2026 candidacy and Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero for woman MP and encouraged support for leaders with a pure heart for humanity.
Dr. Aceng’s commitment to her constituency is evident in her actions. This gesture demonstrates her dedication to serving her community.
