In January 2025, Lira City will be the epicenter of technological innovation as Kakebe Technologies hosts the highly anticipated Youth Tech Camp. This residential camp, set at Jerusalem Heritage School, will welcome 300 young minds from across East Africa, ages 13-35, for two transformative weeks of learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Participants will dive into a diverse curriculum covering robotics, software development, AI, blockchain, music production, and more. Whether a beginner or an advanced learner, each attendee will have the opportunity to either start from scratch or refine their existing skills in a hands-on, project-based environment. The camp is designed not just to teach tech skills but also to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving—key ingredients for innovation.

But the Kakebe Tech Camp isn’t just about technology. It’s about nurturing the next generation of resilient entrepreneurs and leaders. Alongside technical training, the camp will offer business development workshops, startup incubation, and leadership training. Participants will work on real-world projects, addressing local challenges and developing solutions that could have a lasting impact on their communities.
The culmination of the camp will see participants presenting their projects during a Demo Day, with the best ideas entering a six-week accelerator program. This will mark the launch of the Kakebe Innovation Hub, a new space in Northern Uganda dedicated to fostering innovation among the youth.
In a rapidly digitizing world, the skills and experiences gained at the Kakebe Tech Camp will empower these young innovators to not only thrive in the digital age but also lead the way in solving some of the region’s most pressing challenges. Whether it’s through developing eco-friendly technology, launching new startups, or creating digital art, these youths are set to make a significant impact on their communities and beyond.
Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting journey to empower the next generation of East African tech leaders!
