‎Lira City West Constituency has booked a spot in the final of the 2025 Dwog Pacu Cup after a thrilling 2-1 win over Erute North in the second semi-final held today. The much-anticipated final will now see Lira City West face Kioga Constituency on Sunday, August 3, 2025.‎‎

Aron Odongo emerged as the hero of the day, netting both goals for Lira City West and earning himself the coveted “Man of the Match” title.

His outstanding performance not only sealed the victory for his team but also earned him a unique prize — 30 tree seedlings, in alignment with this year’s tournament theme: “Plant More Trees.” The theme aims to integrate environmental conservation with sports by encouraging players and fans to take part in reforestation efforts.‎‎

Half time was a 1:1 draw however, Lira City West’s defense held strong to secure the win. The match was played in front of an enthusiastic crowd that braved the afternoon heat to witness one of the tournament’s most exciting encounters.‎‎

Kioga Constituency, who qualified earlier after defeating Dokolo North 1-0 in the first semi-final, will now prepare to meet Lira City West in what promises to be a fiercely contested final.

Kioga remains unbeaten in the tournament and is expected to put up a strong challenge in the final showdown.‎‎Meanwhile, Erute North and Dokolo North will face off in the third-place play-off match scheduled for Friday, August 1, 2025.

Entrance to the match will be free of charge, allowing fans from both constituencies and beyond to enjoy the game and celebrate the spirit of community and sportsmanship promoted by the tournament.‎‎

Organizers of the Dwog Pacu Cup have commended all teams for embracing the dual objectives of the competition — fostering talent and promoting environmental awareness.
