UTC Lira, July 20, 2025 — Kioga Constituency has become the second team to book a spot in the semifinals of the 2025 Dwog Pacu Cup after a commanding 3–0 victory over tournament favorites, Apac Municipality.‎‎

Apac, who had previously won all their matches in the competition except a narrow 2–1 loss to Otuke East during the group stages, were left stunned by a well-organized Kioga side.

The defeat marks Apac’s unexpected exit from the tournament.‎‎Kioga Constituency, who topped Group C after scoring 10 goals in four matches, have now tallied a total of 13 goals in the tournament while conceding just one — a remarkable defensive and attacking record.‎‎

One of the standout performers of the day was Ambrose Kigozi (shirt number 15), who netted Kioga’s second goal against Apac.

This brings his tournament tally to six goals, making him the second top scorer so far. Kigozi now trails Andrew Otim of Apac Municipality (8 goals) by two goals.

However, with Apac eliminated, Otim — a forward for SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League — may lose his top scorer status if Kigozi maintains form in the remaining two matches.‎‎

Kigozi plays club football with Kiyinda Boys FC, a Gayaza-based side in the FUFA Big League. In the 2024/25 season, he finished as the second top scorer in the league with 15 goals, just one shy of Lawrence Kambugu of Ntugasaze FC, who led with 16.‎‎

Meanwhile, Kioga’s goalkeeper was named Man of the Match for his outstanding performance and received 15 tree seedlings — a gesture aligned with the tournament’s green agenda under this year’s theme: “Plant More Trees.”‎‎
