UTC Lira, July 20, 2025 — Apac Municipality has been eliminated from the 2025 Dwog Pacu Cup after suffering a crushing 3–0 defeat at the hands of Kioga Constituency in today’s second quarterfinal clash.

‎‎In what many fans described as the most shocking upset of the tournament, Apac Municipality — previously unbeaten except for a narrow 2–1 loss to Otuke East at the group stage of the tournament — faced a painful and unexpected exit.

Despite strong fan support and a spirited first-half performance that ended in a goalless draw with Kioga Constituency shot stopper, Lawrence Tyan (Shirt 1) made a crucial double first-half save to deny Apac Municipality an early lead!

‎‎Apac crumbled under pressure in the second half. The turning point came shortly after the break, when Ambrose Kigozi (shirt 15) stunned the crowd with a powerful strike to put Kioga ahead. Momentum quickly shifted as Denis Okello (shirt 12) added a second goal, electrifying the Kioga fans. Geoffrey Emor (shirt 3) sealed the win with a third goal, extinguishing Apac’s hopes of a comeback.‎‎

The match, held at UTC Lira, drew one of the largest crowds of the tournament so far, with many fans eager to watch Apac — seen as a strong contender — continue their winning streak.

However, it was Kioga Constituency that rose to the occasion with precision, resilience, and tactical superiority. ‎‎Kioga Constituency are still unbeaten in the Dwog Pacu Cup, they join Lira City West in the semi finals that will hold on Saturday 26th July 2025 and Sunday 27th July 2025 respectively.‎‎

Tyang Lawrence, Kioga’s goalkeeper (shirt 1), was named Man of the Match for his commanding performance and clean sheet.

As part of the tournament’s environmental initiative tied to the theme “Plant More Trees”, he received 15 tree seedlings — a symbol of the Cup’s commitment to climate action and sustainability through sports.‎‎

Apac, in addition to their loss, received two yellow cards during the match.‎‎
