‎‎ ‎Mukono, Uganda — A vibrant and inspiring academic milestone unfolded t isoday at Uganda Christian University’s Main Campus in Mukono: the 26th Graduation Ceremony.

Hundreds of graduates—the proud recipients of diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s, postgraduate diplomas, and PhDs—crossed the stage in a powerful affirmation of their hard work and the university’s emphasis on both faith and scholarship .‎‎‎

Graduands began the celebration with a Commissioning Service on July 3 at Nkoyoyo Hall—grounding the event in spiritual reflection and purpose. The next morning, students proceeded to the main Grounds clad in the signature blue graduation gowns that distinguish UCU’s renewed academic identity .‎‎

Supporting university faculty oversaw ceremonies that adhered to all academic requirements: graduands had completed departmental clearances by June 11, secured proper settlement of graduation fees (UGX 450,000 to UGX 950,000 depending on the award), and ensured submission of theses, where applicable, by April 17 .‎‎‎

In his role as UCU Chancellor and Archbishop of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu reminded graduands:‎‎“Carry forward… refrain from corrupt tendencies. Live with integrity to build a better Uganda for generations to come.” ‎‎‎

Vice Chancellor Prof. Aaron Mushengyezi echoed the sentiment, urging graduates to be “principle‑driven leaders… problem solvers, not just spectators,” challenging them to apply learned values in public and private spheres .‎‎‎

A standout moment featured the Leader of the Opposition, Joel Ssenyonyi, among today’s recipients of a Master’s in Organizational Leadership and Management—melding academic growth and civic responsibility .‎‎

UCU continues to uphold its spiritual and scholastic mission, cultivating leaders poised to serve the church, community, and nation. The awarding of blue gowns, introduced during the university’s 25th graduation, further symbolizes this evolving identity .

‎‎‎Graduates prepared for the ceremony by collecting academic gowns beginning June 16. UCU ensured that essential processes—clearance, gown distribution, Senate approvals—were completed in time, with contingencies in place: anyone whose thesis submission missed the April 17 deadline will defer attendance to the October 2025 graduation .‎‎‎

UCU’s 26th Graduation Ceremony was more than a festive celebration—it was a powerful reminder of the institution’s guiding ethos: excellence, faith, and service.

As more than a thousand graduands send forth into diverse roles, the university affirms its enduring vision: producing leaders of integrity who will make a positive and lasting impact on Uganda and beyond.‎‎‎‎‎
